The Summer of Sport…YES it’s back!

YES!! It’s Back! The Summer of Sport is in its ninth year and as popular as ever.

Look out for One Hit Wonder, Wild Agility, Showjumping, Score and Score Again and more!

All courses on line from 1st July and run through July and August.

As usual we will be inviting Teams to take part in the Summer of Sport.

A team is made up of three different combinations of equine and handler.

These partnerships can be one person with three equines

OR

three people with one equine (great for families)

OR

three different people with three different horses  so entries can come in from Teams whose members are in completely different parts of the world!

OR

two people with two horses where one person teams up with the other person’s horse.

The combinations are endless as long as each equine/handler combination is different within the Team then it’s allowed!

Each person (with their equine) picks three courses to enter as a Team Entry, these will also be entered in the regular competition but the scores will all be added together to give a grand score that goes towards the Team total. In other words the members of the Team don’t all have to do the same courses.

You’ll need to choose a Team name so get thinking.

Championship Rosettes for our winning Team and Special summer of Sport rosettes for all entries!

At any time before the closing date Lisa.
      We need the Team Name.
The names of the members of the Team (handler and horse name)
A list for each one of the classes they are entering into as a Team.
Those entries still go forward as individual entries but the scores are added to the Team score.
      Hope that explains things.

Good question Louise, no you can enter as an individual or in a Team. These are just extra fun classes that we run through the summer so you can enter as few or as many as you like and you have two months to do it.
      Hope that helps.

The obstacles are very simple Gillian. Poles, a few markers (cones are good) scary things (flags, feed bags etc) the most complex obstacle is a curtain but they are easy to make. There’s nothing technical like bridges or seesaws. We never put those into our On Line competitions. Hope that helps.

No you can declare your chosen classes at the end of August, just send in your entries then tell us (by email is good) what your Team is called, who is in it and which classes each team member is entering into the Team competition. We will be putting further information out as we head into August but it’s good that you asked the question now.

If we’re doing 3 different people with 3 different horses, do we all have to do the same 3 courses, or does each person pick their own?
