The hoop can be used simply as an archway then as a jump through by increasing the height of the lower semi circle which breaks away should the horse not jump clear.

All you need to add is two uprights to support the hoop. 4ft electric fence posts fit well. We have trained our horses to jump a completely floating hoop in an open field using this very simple device.
